In order to keep pace with the global technological advancement and to meet the demands and challenges of present and future environment, our college has established the Department of Biotechnology in the year 2001. B.Sc. Biotechnology was started in 2005-2006 as per University of Pune norms and M. Sc Biotechnology was started in 2008-2009. Two batches of B.Sc. students have passed since then with good results (app.100%). The department is well equipped with latest instruments and modern laboratories. The Department is also recognized as Research centre for Life Sciences for pursuing M. Phil and Ph. D in Life sciences.

The Department has three well-established laboratories for conducting B. Sc & M.Sc. (Biotech) courses, which comprises area of 6347 sq. ft. There are well equipped instrument rooms, ATC, PTC, Cell and Molecular Biology, Immunology and Virology Laboratories There is a departmental library with about  650 books which includes reference book and journals.
