I ) The Project competition & Poster competition for the under-graduate students of Pune city and Pune District was organized by the Department of Physics, Modern College, Shivajinagar, Pune-5 in association with Indian Physics Association (IPA - Pune Chapter) on Friday 30th January 2009.

No. of entries for Poster competition -- 43
In some entries, students participated in the group of 2 or 3.
All the teaching and non teaching staff members and the students of the department had taken due efforts for the success of the activity under the leadership of Prof. V.T. Shelke and Mrs. V.A. Abhyankar
II ) Poster competition for F.Y BSc class was organised by the department under the able guidance of Shri S.S.Thengadi and Ms Roslin Gaware.
