- The faculty has received 6 major and 17 minor research projects funded by various agencies like DBT, DST, UGC, and BCUD. The total amount received so far is about Rs. 86,00,000/-.
- The faculty has published 10 research papers in international journals and 6 research papers in national journals during the last five years.
- The department has successfully organized an international conference onm the theme of ‘Bioscience, Biotechnology and Biodiversity Analysis’ in the month of August 2005.
- Five students of M.Sc. Botany, Miss. Hardwani Jaya K.(2005-06), Mr. Ghorpade Ravi P. (2003-04), Miss. Kurne Anagha A., (2001-02), Mr. Anishkumar K.C. (1998-99) were awarded the prestigious V D Vartak award for their excellence in the subject Angiosperm Taxonomy.
- Miss. Kandpal Rashmi (2002-2003) Received Gold Medal for standing first in Botany under University of Pune.
- One Post Doctoral Fellow Mrs. Anandini Kshirsagar has completed her research in the Post Graduate Research Centre of the Department of Botany.
- One of the research scholar Miss Anagha Kurne received a DST scholarship (WOS-B) worth Rs. 4,81,000/-
