The Department has 2 Laboratories for Senior and Junior college practicals. The larger lab can accommodate 40 student batch while the small lab can accommodate 25 students for the practical.

There are over 100 different student microscopes, binocular microscopes (2), stereo-zoom binocular microscopes (3), Phase Contrast Microscope (1), various demonstration facilities, etc.  All equipment like overhead projector, TV-VCR-CD Player, CC-TV attached Microscope, digital cameras (2) and film cameras (2) , GPS (1), Computers and printers (one high definition printer with scanning facility) and a scanner. In addition gel and paper electrophoresis apparatus, voltage stabilizers, cooling centrifuge, cooling incubator, spectrophotometer, pH meter, etc are also available in the department. Microtomes of three type, kymograph apparatus, and insect collection equipment are also available.

The department has a well developed museum and also an excellent collection of insects.
